Here’s a thing: no one cares. At all. both sides, just stop.

I value the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. It’s a very noble way to live, and a very easy way to live off the land and off of your own resources. It’s very good for the environment as a whole. It can be very cheap (though sometimes very expensive) and the diets usually consist of very little fat, and very healthy foods rich with nutrients, anti-oxidants, vitamins, etc. Science is finding more and more ways in which grown foods can benefit people’s health.

For omnivores, they’re eating what they want. They’re going for a diet that they don’t have to struggle with to obtain, and often times it’s difficult to get items that are truly vegan unless you make them yourselves (and I don’t see anyone making their own lipstick and eyeliner). And sometimes omnivores only eat free-range animals, as well as animals slaughtered humanely (see halal slaughter) which is gaining in popularity. With rising populations comes rising demands for meat, but there are places out there trying to treat the animals properly. There are ways to eat meat and actually be humane about it. And to you hunters out there- a killshot to the head hurts less than one to the heart. Stopping the brain stops the ability to feel pain.

I’m tired of people acting like they’re better than one another. Some people honestly don’t value the lives of animals. It happens. It’s no big deal to me. In my life I’ve learned that one of the hardest things to change is others. It’s better to pick your battles, be polite and civil, and educate people, rather than write angry blog posts with lame name calling and death wishes, and scream at strangers about it. Stop acting like everyone’s an idiot except for you. Because that is never, ever true.
